Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Melbourne to Halls Gap

Your epic adventure begins as your friendly local guide picks you up and you start heading out Westward through gorgeous scenery. Pass through the historic goldmining city of Ballarat before you catch your first glimpse of the stunningly beautiful, Grampians mountain range of Victoria. You will feel the sense of adventure rising in you as you draw closer, knowing you are in for an unforgettable experience.

MacKenzie’s Falls

You will marvel at the majestic Mackenzie’s Falls and experience some of the best lookout in the region. Admire the panoramic views of Halls Gap and the east of the Grampians from the Boroka Lookout, where the stunning views will leave you breathless.

Reed Lookout

Your adventure continues with a simple climb up to Reed Lookout and The Balconies, two spectacular locations easily accessible from the one track. After taking it all in at Reed Lookout, it’s an easy 2km walk around to The Balconies for more incredible views of The Victoria Valley and surrounding ranges.

Day 2 – Halls Gap to Melbourne

We’ve saved the best of The Grampians to last as we head up to the Pinnacle Lookout. This iconic place is world renowned among Instagrammers and is without doubt THE HIGHLIGHT of the entire Grampians region. Choose from one of two trails - one easy, one more challenging – but whichever path you take you will be rewarded at the end as the panoramic views of Halls Gap and the Grampians’ many peaks open up before your eyes, leaving you that will simply take our breath away. (Hint, if you take the more challenging walk you will pass through Australia’s version of the Grand Canyon and also the unique “Silent Street”.)

Lunch in Ararat – Prison Tour

Sadly, we say farewell to The Grampians after our morning hike and head to Ararat for lunch (at your own expense). The town has many fantastic cafes and other options so you are sure to find something that will suit your taste. Then we take a step back in time, for a tour of the historic Goldfields Ararat Prison. Hear fascinating stories from the days of bushrangers who roamed the goldfields stealing from all and sundry, to its equally amazing and sometimes extraordinary time as a Ward for the Criminally Insane.

After all this, you will welcome the chance to sit back and relax in comfort for the drive back to Melbourne where we’ll arrive around 7.30pm.
